camp part 2

hey guys,

i just got back from high school camp a couple of days ago. it was busy. we would go to breakfast, morning session, games, lunch, jump rope, dinner, night session, games, bed. yeah... we jumped a lot of rope. for over 5 1/2 hours we tried to get all 96 people through without screwing up. it was hard, but in the end it was justified. i wish we would have more FRC only time and games because Scot really pushed us. it was cool to watch some kids grow emotionally, spiritually, and as a team. one cool moment was when God laid it on my heart to pray for a certain person who normally doesn't come to mind right when i bow my head. sure enough after about 5 minutes, they got up and grabbed a rock which symbolized theyre commitment to follow Christ. it was cool how prayer was answered right there. it was definitely worth it, so anyone on the fence, please trust me, and go!

camp

i just got back from middle school camp. it was a long drive, but well worth it. the kids were pushed to their limits in all the games and had fight through their want to quit. the sessions were entertaining, and had some real thought provoking moments. we even had about 10 kids get baptized. overall, i think it went great. it was definitely something to build on.

i came home and found out that my sister had some complications and was in the hospital. it was much more serious than i was led to believe, but kelly is alright now. that was a scary moment for all of us. i donated some blood for her, and went to visit her in the hospital. she seems to be a little better, but is still weak, and should be in there until at least monday.

it has been an extremely stressful week with kelly's complications, having to watch the babies, big decisions weighing me down, and having no sleep through it all. now i'm turning around and going to high school camp. just keep me and my family in your prayers. thank you.

Summer Camp

school is almost done and summer is just around the corner. i'm getting pretty stoked about summer camp, as a senior, this will sadly be my last camp, but it looks to be amazing. it's called The Way and is going to be awesome. we're gonna go up to north florida and some big bands and speakers will be there, plus a ton of games and time to hang out with everybody. if you are in student ministry and are debating going to camp, i encourage you to go. it is the best thing we do at FRC, and you will definitely come back changed. it is an amazing spiritual experience, i pray that you just give it a shot if you're doubting it. i will personally take responsibility for your time, if you go and dont have a blast, i will wash your car or something. just give it a chance.

i also am planning to go to middle school camp, which is called Leave Nothing, as a leader. the same goes for this, it is a great way to grow spiritually and make some true friends and accountability partners. so parents, don't be alarmed, you're kids will be well supervised by all of the adult leaders and they'll have a lot of fun. camp is amazing because you get to see kids lives completely changed for Christ. they come back on fire for God and many students turn into leaders right in front of our eyes at camp.

home, finally

i got home yesterday from ocklawaha. middle school camp wasnt quite what i expected, but it was awesome. it was a lot of work. we had to set up/serve/clean up/do the dishes for all the meals, and then clean up after the night games, and tear down, and do fun jobs like that, but overall, work crew was pretty cool. i got to meet a lot of cool people. i had a lot of fun. there was definitely a reason i ended up there. plus i had some quality company on the way up and back. so i cant complain. im definitely down for the rest of the camps i can go to. they've been a blast, so God focused and charged. it was great.

i slept most of the day, but got up at about noon. went to the movies at sawgrass. we saw matt and the sawgrass crew handing out waters on the road, it was good to see them out there spreading the word about FRC sawgrass. we had the same theatre we use for church, made me feel like i should be building something during the whole movie. but we saw the bourne ultimatum. it was good, but the camera was zoomed in too much the whole movie, and it was so shaky i felt a little sea sick. but other than that, it was good.

went to church later that day, chad did a great job. a real touching sermon about pete. i miss pete, but im happy that hes in a better place. pete was my table leader with abel when i was in middle school. it was crazy, our table started off so small, with only about 4 of us, but grew into this huge group by the end of our 8th grade year. it was cool, because before we started sawgrass, i helped out teaching middle school on sunday mornings at the cooper city campus, and i got to help out at pete's table. i could tell he practically ran that place, he did 3 services, had a huge table, and did socials all the time. those kids loved him and it was a great experience getting to work with him and learn from him. it was definitely a God thing that i got to work with him for those few months after he was healed of cancer, and before he had that relapse. i feel like God gave me a great opportunity to get to know pete better and learn from him during that small window when he was healthy. he really made an impact on me and i hope i can be the leader for my middle schoolers like he was for those kids. it was sad when i found out he died, miss watson told me early in the morning at camp, i had a hard time at breakfast, but ive been ok since. i know pete went out on God's time and that God gave him an amazing gift of an extra few months to change the lives of his middle schoolers, his friends, his family, and me. i know im gonna see him again one day, and im going to thank him. love you pete. praise the lord! as my sister says, pete found sudden glory.

here we go again

so i was sitting at my house around 6 today and i got a call from my buddy scott. he asked me what i was up to this week, i said nothing. he said, how would you like to come to middle school camp. so i basically put all the clothes and towels and stuff that just got out of the laundry from high school camp back into a bag and said, alright. so here i am again, im leaving for ocklawaha tomorrow to watch a bunch of middle schoolers make fools of themselves, try to impress the opposite sex, and hopefully grow closer to God. im on the work team, so i shouldnt have much free time, but its all for Him, so ill gladfully serve all those kids biscuits and gravy in the morning. at least ill have some quality company, and maybe ill make some new friends. im sure it wont be so bad. so i'll see you all when i get back on friday. pray for me! over a hundred middle schoolers all running around with their parents hundreds of miles away. i'll need the prayers.

camp

hey guys, i just got back from camp. it was awesome. tennesee was amazing. zip lining and white water rafting definitely topped the list. it was such a God charged week. no distractions, everyone seemed to be on fire for Him. it was amazing. i feel like ive grown closer to the guys in my home group, and have grown closer to God. i can't get the song of the redeemed out of my head. : ) all in all, it was great and im so glad i went. i can't wait for next year.

i love summer

today was a good relaxing summer day. i went to go get my senior pictures today, it was ok. it wasnt fun waiting around, but i got them done, so thats good. hung around the house a little. saw some people i hadn't seen in a while at mcdonald's. then i went and played "crud" at orlando's house. if you dont know how to play, next time you and me are near a pool table, ill show you how. you'll want to play for hours on end. after some intense rounds of crud, i finally went home. i came home and watched the godfather II on tv. i realized that it may tie godfather I for best movie ever. maybe... but its been a great day, im really going to miss summer for times like these. im up at 2:30 and loving it. tomorrow i have to go to wal mart to get ready for tennesee, then church. i hope camp is awesome, this is my first one, so im a little nervous. but i bet it'll be great. well, ill try to get to sleep soon. good night.
